Keyboard shortcuts

These are the shortcuts the editor has today. On a Mac, use the Command key where this page says Ctrl.

Delete or Backspace

What it does. Delete the selected object

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a form field. Doesn't delete the box while you are editing its text; it deletes letters instead. A selected box that you are not editing is deleted.

Ctrl+D or Cmd+D

What it does. Duplicate the selected object

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a form field, or when nothing is selected. Still works while you are editing text inside a box: it leaves the text and copies the box.

Ctrl+C or Cmd+C

What it does. Copy the selected object

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a form field, while you are editing text inside a box, or when nothing is selected.

Ctrl+V or Cmd+V

What it does. Paste the copied object

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a form field, or when nothing has been copied yet. Doesn't paste a box while you are editing text inside a box; it pastes letters instead. Each paste lands a little down and to the right of the last one.

Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z

What it does. Undo

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a form field, so the field keeps its own undo. Still works while you are editing text inside a box.

Ctrl+Y or Cmd+Y

What it does. Redo

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a form field, so the field keeps its own redo. Still works while you are editing text inside a box.

Ctrl+G or Cmd+G

What it does. Group the selected objects

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a text box or a form field. Needs two or more objects selected, and none of them locked.

Ctrl+Shift+G or Cmd+Shift+G

What it does. Ungroup

When it does nothing. Does nothing while you are typing in a text box or a form field. Needs one group selected.
